Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is 'still trying to put together' the pre-game detainment by Miami-Dade police on Sunday (Sep 8). The WR was eventually let go after 'several minutes' and addressed the situation post game.
"Right now, I'm still trying to put it all together ... I still don't know what happened," Hill said.
"But I do want to use this platform to say, 'What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill?' Worst-case scenario, you know? ... Everybody has bad apples in every situation, but I want to be able to use this platform to figure out a way to flip this and make it a positive on my end and Miami-Dade and do something positive for the community."

"It's hard. I don't want to bring race into it, but sometimes it gets kind of iffy when you do. What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill? Lord knows what those guys would have done. I just wanted to make sure I was doing what my uncle always told me to do whenever you're in a situation like that -- put your hands on the steering wheel and just listen," the WR added.
The police had detained Hill three hours prior to their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was detained for speeding and reckless driving before being placed in handcuffs.
The incident, however, didn't affect his game, as he managed 130 receiving yards - the highest in the game - including a 80-yard touchdown - the longest of his career.
Hill celebrated the TD in a unique manner, putting his hands behind his back while teammate Jaylen Waddle detained him.
The Dolphins eventually won the game 20-17 despite trailing 7-17 at halftime. In the last two quarters though, the Dolphins scored 13 points while holding the Jaguars to nothing.
