Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Mookie Betts fractured his wrist on Sunday (June 16) after being hit by a 98 mph fastball during the game against the Kansas City Royals.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed to reporters after the game that Betts will be 'out for sometime.' Roberts, however, confirmed that the All-Star won't be needing a surgery.
The incident happened with Dodgers leading 3-0 in bottom of seventh when Royals reliever Dan Altavilla fired in a stinger inside that hit Betts on his left wrist. The Dodgers player immediately fell on the ground, grimacing in pain while holding his wrist. He eventually left the field. Have a look at the full sequence below:

Betts' health is a bigger concern for the Dodgers, especially after putting starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the injured list. Yamamoto suffered a triceps injury and was pulled out of Saturday's (June 15) start against Royals after pitching just two innings.
As for Betts, a former MVP with the Boston Red Sox, Dodgers will definitely miss his presence on the field. A seven-time All-Star including three times in last three seasons, Betts was on course for another All-Star nomination in the ongoing season.
The former Red Sox had smashed .307/.407/.493 with 10 home runs, 40 RBI and nine steals in 71 games this season before being injured.
As for the game, Dodgers, despite losing Betts, still went on to win the game 3-0.
