Virat Kohli's 113*, off 72 balls, could not lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) to win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) when both sides metat the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipurduring match 19 of IPL 2024 on April 6. Despite Kohli's eighth IPL ton, RCB only managed 183-3. In reply, Sanju Samson-led RR chased down the score in 19.1 overs courtesy of Jos Buttler's 100* and Samson's 69 (42).
During RR's chase, an RCB fan --donning the franchisejersey with Kohli's name and number-- managed tojump over the barricade and make his way to the field. After meeting Kohli, when security officials came running towards the pitch invader, the RCB opener was heard asking the security to be lenient with the fan.

This isn't the first instance of a fan entering the ground to meet Kohli. In RCB's home game versus Punjab Kings (PBKS), during match 6 in Bengaluru, a fan made a similar successful attempt. However, later the fans shared on social media platforms that they were treated very badly by the security officials. In a bid to avoida repeat of such an incidence, Kohli urged the officials to be easy with the fanin Jaipur.
Talking about Kohli, he is the leading run-getter in IPL 2024. At present, he tops the Orange Cap list with 316 runs. However, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB franchise are languishing at the ninth spot in the points table with only two wins from five encounters. Hence, the three-time finalistsneed a comeback at the earliest to stay in the playoffs race.
