International cricket legends Allan Donald and VVS Laxman slammed the selectors today for dropping Bhuvneshwar Kumar out of India's XI for the second Test against South Africa.

"Don’t understand how you can leave a bowler out that don’t have more bounce than a taller bowler @ImIshant," tweeted Donald.

"Bhuvi has so much skill and accuracy that he brings. It’s like leaving out Vernon Philander," read his tweet.

Bhuvi's omission also left former Indian cricketer, VVS Laxman, surprised.

"I am surprised not to find Bhuvi in the playing XI today. In the first test, he took the most number of wickets (6 wickets)showing skill in using the new ball & batted quite well-showing patience and resilience. Am I missing something here," tweeted Laxman.

Selections for India's XI for the 2nd Test against South Africa included other trimmings.

Parthiv Patel replaced wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha as the latter suffered an injury.

Shikhar Dhawan was dropped and replaced by KL Rahul.
