Formula One: No rift with Adrian Newey insists Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, says we remain friend
Red Bull team Principal Christian Horner insists he remains friends with Adrian Newey despite the legendary designer announcing his desire to leave the racing side. Newey, having joined Red Bull in2006will end his stint in 2025 when his contract expires. However, rumours of his exit were already in the mediawithhim now associated with a move to Ferrari. On the other side, Horner still remains on the racing side despite facing allegations of inappropriate behaviourand accordingtohimthe issue had nothing to do with him and his relationship with Newey.
Horner opens up on relationship withNewey
"I'vespoken to Adrian at length about itandAdrian'sposition isvery clear. We have enjoyed a great relationship, and we continue to enjoy a great relationship. We are friendsas well aswork colleaguesandhe'sdone a huge amount for this team,"said Horner.
"We will be sad to see him leavebuthe'sleft the team in good shapeandwe'vegot a great team of people and strength and depth to take us forward."
The legendary designer has been instrumental to RedBull’ssuccesshavingledthem to sevenDriver’sChampionships during his spell.His designs saw Red Bull win the Formula OneDriver’sChampionshipfirstfrom 2010 to 2013 andthenfrom 2021 to present.This spell also saw Red Bull bag six Constructors Championships.
