Harry Kane scored two goals to give England a 2-1 win over Tunisia in the opening World Cup Group G match. Kane scored the winner in the extra time. A very crucial moment when both the team were struggling with a 1-1 score but England missed many chances otherwise it could have been two goals up inside the first four minutes but extra points to Tunisia team for their tight defence.

Gareth Southgate's men have started the World Cup campaign with a well-deserved victory against Tunisia at the Volgograd Arena.

After winning the game, Harry Kane interacted with the media and said, "I'm so proud of the lads. They kept going, kept going to the last second."

"I am absolutely buzzing, everyone on the staff is. It shows good character to get the job done."

For Tunisia, Hassen, who had injured his left shoulder making an earlier save, could not continue and left the field in tears as he was replaced in goal by Farouk Ben Mustapha.

A 35th-minute Ferjani Sassi penalty had cancelled out Kane's 11th-minute opener in the first half.

After the break, England, who had wasted several good chances in the first half, struggled to break down the deep defending African side but finally got a breakthrough in the extra time.

But from a Kieran Trippier corner, a glancing header from Harry Maguire found Kane at the back post and he nodded home to give England a winning start.
