Zidane-led Real Madrid are looking to make it back to the final for the third season in a row
The Bavarians host defending champions Real Madrid in the first leg of UEFA Champions League semi-final at Allianz Arena, Munich on Thursday 12:15 AM. The Madrid-Munich battle is one of the most celebrated rivalries of Champions League.
Real Madrid will be looking forward to making it to the finals of Champions League for the third time but Bayern Munich is not going to be easy as they have been sensational this season. Bayern have already secured the Bundesliga title and have reached the German Cup final as well.
Zidane mentioned that how Bayern have improved under the guidance of Jupp Heynckes. While addressing the media, Zidane said, "We will need a big performance against a strong opponent. Bayern are a great club with great team spirit."
The squad of Real Madrid is fit and healthy, Zizou has travelled to Munich with the full squad.
On the other hand, Bayern have several injury issues. As Manuel Neuer is still out and Arturo Vidal has already been ruled out due to knee surgery. David Alaba and Corentin Tolisso too might not play due to some injury issues.
In a recent press conference, Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes said, "We have an extraordinary atmosphere within the team but this is the only way to be successful against the greatest. That's why I'm very optimistic for the two games. Yet, it must be noted that the other side is a top team with a lot of international experience, including world champions and several Champions League winners. Faith can move mountains."
