The Kerala high court has rejected the actor Dileep's bail plea.
Dileep is accused of plotting the abduction and sexual assault of a popular actress.
The actress was abducted on February 17 and allegedly assaulted for two hours in a moving car by a group of men.
Dismissing Dileep's bail plea, PTI reported, Justice Sunil Thomas said the investigation in the case is progressing and the mobile phone, stated by the prosecution as key evidence in the case, has not yet been recovered.
The court added that the accused is influential and likely to tamper with evidence if granted bail at this stage.
Dileep was arrested on July 10.

He applied for bail to the high court after a lower court turned down an earlier appeal.
The police have claimed that the conspiracy to abduct and assault the actress, and film the act, was hatched by Dileep and Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the case.
In their remand application, PTI reported, the police have also claimed that Dileep had a grudge against the actress for telling his former wife about his alleged affairs and that he had hatched a conspiracy to take revenge way back in 2013.
