Pakistan has gone into a huddle over the latest developments in Jammu and Kashmir. A joint session of the Pakistani parliament has been summoned by Pak President Dr Arif Alvi.

This session will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with the prime agenda of the scrapping of article 370 by the Indian government.

The PM Narendra Modi government today revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and proposed that the state be bifurcated into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Pakistan's army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also summoned a meeting of the corps commanders.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that they will raise the issue of India's decision with the United States.

Qureshi tweeted saying that they intend to highlight the issue of scrapping Article 370 at a meet with the US delegation.

US diplomat Alice Wells will also be in Pakistan today. Wells is the Trump administration’s point-person for south and central Asia.
