The attacker, identified as Krishna Kanoja, works in the accounts section of the same firm. Local police in a statement said that the attacker and the victim were at odds because of some money borrowing issue.

A thick layer of fog enveloped Indian national capital Delhi and surrounding areas on Friday morning (Jan 10), with visibility reducing to zero.
Delhi recorded a temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius at 5.30 am on Friday, as per the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) data. The Met Department predicted the minimum temperature at 6 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature at around 20 degrees Celsius with very dense fog.
In view of the dense fog, the Delhi Airport issued an advisory for the passengers stating that there has been impact on flight departures. It further advised the passengers to contact their respective airlines for updated flight information.The advisory reads, "Due to dense Fog, there has been impact on Flight departures, however, flights which are CAT III compliant are able to land and depart from Delhi Airport. Officials in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh said on Thursday (Jan 9) that many labourers were trapped after a structure collapsed in an iron-making factory in the Mungeli district.&nbsp;
The factory is located in the district's Sargaon area. Speaking to the news agency ANI, Mungeli Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhojram Patel said, "We received information that part of the chimney, silo collapsed at the smelting plant and some labourers got trapped underneath. <h2> Docking attempts postponed twice</h2>
 The SPADEX satellites were meant to complete autonomous docking in the morning hours of 9th Jan, Thursday. However, on Wednesday night, as one of the twin satellites initiated the drift to move closer from 500 m to 225 m, the drift between satellites was found to be more than desired, therefore leading to temporary postponement. Early on Thursday, private firms Digantara and s2a systems tracked the satellites when they were almost 6.5 km apart.
This is the second postponement of the docking. Earlier this week, the docking was postponed as ISRO wanted to perform a software test and on-ground simulation.

As this is India&rsquo;s maiden docking mission, ISRO is predominantly relying upon the natural drift of the satellites to bring them closer, which is why it is a time consuming process. It must be noted that SPADEX was launched on 30th December and docking was expected at least a week later. In contrast, large cargo-carrying or human-carrying spacecrafts dock with the International space station in eight hours after being launched into space. This is done by firing the on-board engines of the spacecraft and syncing up in close proximity with the space station, leading to docking.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) reintroduced&nbsp; the Stage III restrictions under the anti-pollution Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR on Thursday (Jan 9). This decision comes after air pollution levels rose just days after the previous restrictions were lifted on 5 January.

According to the Commission, the measures were reinstated in line with the Supreme Court&rsquo;s directives to impose GRAP restrictions based on air quality trends. The statement from CAQM said, &ldquo;The AQI of Delhi, recorded as 297 on 8th January, exhibited a sharp increasing trend and was recorded at 357 at 4 pm on 9th January due to calm winds and foggy conditions.&rdquo;

Restrictions on non-essential BS-IV diesel-operated medium goods vehicles.
Additionally, restrictions from Stage I and Stage II of GRAP remain in effect. The CAQM said that authorities would continue to monitor AQI levels across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) to assess the need for further action.

He said those 20 men were paying for the entire bus, and he saw an old man who was struggling for money to pay the fair while a well-off woman was seen on a video call travelling carefree and fare-free.&nbsp;
He further said that if the state government has so much monetary surplus, why not make the ride free for men as well? He said that across the world, such subsidies are given to people with weak financial backgrounds, but in India, they are given based on gender.&nbsp;

We get a lot of Russian tourists for skiing. As far as Khelo India games are concerned, it will be a great idea to boost the winter tourism. L&T chairman asks employees to stop 'staring at their wives' at home and work 90 hours a week. Internet is not happy

Residents of several villages in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, have reported alarming cases of sudden and severe hair loss, which resulted in baldness within days for the ones affected, sparking panic in the region.
In response, local authorities launched an urgent investigation into potential water contamination, where they collected samples from local sources for testing.
A health department team began a survey in the villages on Tuesday (Jan 7) after the mysterious illness came to light.
The treatment for the ones affected has begun, said Shegaon health officer Dr. Deepali Bahekar.
&ldquo;The department has started medical treatment of the patients as per the symptoms, and advice from skincare specialists is also being taken,&rdquo; Bahekar said, as per news agency PTI reports.
According to state department officials, over 150 people, including men, women, and children, have been affected.

District health officer Amol Geete, as per Indian media reports, said that in the majority of the cases, the reason behind the hair fall was a fungal infection of the scalp.
&ldquo;As soon as we got the information, we sent a skin specialist and an epidemiologist to the village for the primary investigation. Around 99 per cent of the cases show a fungal infection of the scalp, due to which people experience hair fall,&rdquo; Geeta said as per India Today reports.
&ldquo;We will also test the water to see if there are heavy metals in it, because they boost fungal infection. We will take skin samples of 2 to 4 patients and send them to Akola Medical College for microscopy.&rdquo;

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday (Jan 9) said that there was a lack of clarity surrounding the INDIA alliance's leadership and agenda, and pointed out that no meetings of the opposition alliance have been organised.
He further said that, as per what was discussed earlier, there wasn't any time limit for the INDIA alliance, and if it was just set up for the parliamentary elections, then it must be dissolved now.
Abdullah made the remarks as he was responding to a question on the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, where all three parties, AAP, BJP and Congress, are contesting against&nbsp; each other.
"I cannot say anything about this because we have nothing to do with Delhi elections. AAP, Congress and the other parties on the ground must decide how to combat the BJP," the J&amp;K CM was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
"As far as I remember, there was no time limit to the INDIA alliance. Unfortunately, no INDIA alliance meeting is being organised, so there is no clarity about leadership, agenda, or our (INDIA bloc's) existence... They should wind up the alliance in case it was just for the Parliament elections," he added.&nbsp;
He further mentioned that AAP won the previous two state assembly elections in Delhi.
"This time we will have to wait for what the people of Delhi decide," he added.
It is pertinent to note that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress had formed an alliance along with other parties for the Lok Sabha elections several months ago.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah said that the alliance is not only confined to contesting elections.
"... As far as alliance is concerned, alliance exists in everything, and is not limited to contesting elections. The alliance exists to strengthen the country and remove this hatred from our country. Those who think it was just for Parliamentary elections, should come out of this misconception," he said.
The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.

There were 91 counters and thousands of devotees lined up to get the tokens in the morning to get the tickets. However, the crowd became unruly when people started pushing and jostling.
BR Naidu, chairman of TTD, said that the stampede began when the gate opened to assist a woman who was feeling unwell, reported HT. The crowd started to push forward leading to a chaotic situation in Tirupati.
Naidu has cited overcrowding as the reason for the stampede.

TTD Board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy has expressed his apologies for the stampede and said that an inquiry would be conducted into the matter.
&ldquo; ...to distribute tokens for 'Ekadasi Darshan', we opened 91 counters...it is unfortunate that stampede happened. Six devotees died in the stampede, 40 have sustained injuries, we are providing best medical facilities possible to them. This has never happened in TTD history. I sincerely seek apology from the devotees,&rdquo; he told reporters.

<h2>Andhra Pradesh CM to visit families of victims</h2>
According to a statement from the TTD chairman&rsquo;s office, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is closely monitoring the situation and will pay a visit to the families of the victims on Thursday (Jan 9).

<h2>PM and President express condolences</h2>
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his condolences for the aggrieved families.
President Droupadi Murmu expressed grief over the tragic incident.
&ldquo;Distressed to know that a stampede in Tirupati led to loss of life of many devotees. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for speedy recovery of the injured,&rdquo; she said in an X post.
<h2>Two FIRs lodged</h2>
Two FIRs have been lodged with the Tirupati East Police regarding the incident. The first complaint involved a resident of Tamil Nadu who lost her life after she collapsed during the stampede despite being rushed to the hospital. The second FIR reported the deaths of five devotees.

This is the second postponement of the docking. Earlier this week, the docking was postponed as ISRO wanted to perform a software test and on-ground simulation before proceeding with the docking.&nbsp;

While ISRO has assured that the satellites are safe, it will take a short while before ground-based antennas will be able to "see and speak" to the satellites. Typically, satellites that are closer to earth (SPADEX satellites are 470 km above earth) are only visible for a couple of minutes from each ground-based station, as the satellites move at speeds of over 28,000 kmph.
<h2>Why is space docking so complicated?</h2>
When a chaser spacecraft is approaching the target spacecraft, the relative velocity between the two (the difference in velocity between the two) and the distance between the two must be controlled very carefully. If the relative velocity is too high, the docking attempt can fail, causing damage or collisions. If it is too low, it may take too long to complete the approach, which could lead to fuel inefficiencies or mission delays.

When the spacecraft dock, their relative velocity must be near-zero. This means that the two spacecraft must be moving at the same velocity and in the same direction at the time of docking to ensure a smooth connection without any impact forces. This requires careful coordination and manoeuvring, all done fully autonomously.
Initially, the satellites were 20 km apart from each other, and gradually, the satellites began to autonomously reduce the distance between themselves.&nbsp;
From 20 km, the inter-satellite distance had been gradually lowered to 5 km, 1.5 km, 500 m.&nbsp;
On Wednesday night, one of the twin satellites had initiated the drift to move closer from 500 m to 225 m, and that's when the drift between satellites was found to be more than expected, therefore leading to temporary postponement.&nbsp;

"My parents died when I was a child, and my wife left me long back. It has been around 16 years since I last visited my home in Bihar," the man said during the police investigation.&nbsp;

Satendra Pal, one of the brothers accused of the alleged murder, said, "My youngest sibling, who is in the police, was also named, but after pleading with the Deputy Inspector General, his name was removed from the FIR."

A horrifying video of the incident has emerged on social media, showing the elephant violently swinging a man. The crowd present at the scene dispersed in no time; however, at least 24 people sustained injuries.

The man attacked by the elephant was later rushed to Aster MIMS Hospital in Kottakal for treatment. Eventually, the animal was tamed with the help of its caretaker.
Others suffered injuries due to a stampede-like situation that arose as the animal went out of control. It was only after two hours that the elephant was brought back in control.

Viral videos show at least five elephants adorned with golden plates being present at the festival. One of them became agitated as crowd tried to film them. The tusker was then secured near a mast to prevent any further incident.

The report comes days after a wild elephant trampled and killed a 37-year-old tribal man earlier this week in dense forests near Nilambur area. Earlier in November last year, a similar incident occurred in Chennai when a 45-year-old mahout and his relative were killed after being trampled by a temple elephant.

Today, I brought the media here, but water cannons and police have been deployed. Are we terrorists?&rdquo;

Saurabh Bharadwaj added that both police and Public Works Department (PWD) officials told them they were acting on orders from higher authorities to prevent entry. He said, &ldquo;Every day, BJP has been releasing videos and photos of the residence. We came with the media to see the residence, but three layers of barricades have been set up to block us. If we were allowed in, the truth would have been revealed. Where are the golden toilets and swimming pool they claim exist?&rdquo;
Bharadwaj also questioned the BJP&rsquo;s motives, comparing the alleged Rs 33 crore spent on Kejriwal&rsquo;s residence to the Rs 2,700 crore being spent on the Prime Minister&rsquo;s new residence. He said, &ldquo;Both were built during the COVID-19 pandemic with taxpayer money. Let the public see both. The BJP wants to hide the PM&rsquo;s residence, but we demand transparency for both houses.&rdquo;
