Pawar stated that the rumour was spread by two persons Udhal Kumar and Vijay Kumar, when they heard a tea seller shouting about a fire in the bogie after which both of them panicked and subsequently people started jumping off the train to save themselves.
Speaking to reporters, Ajit Pawar said, "After the railway incident, the administration and other forces got active and started the relief and rescue operations... Udhal Kumar and Vijay Kumar from Shravasti were on the train... They were travelling in the general bogie and were sitting on the upper berth... One tea seller from the pantry shouted about a fire in the bogie, both of them heard that and panicked..."
"Some passengers jumped out of the moving train to save themselves from the fire... But the train was moving at a good speed so one of the people pulled the chain and the train stopped... Many passengers got off the train and started crossing the railway track... Another train, Karnataka Express came at a very high speed and hit the passengers who were crossing the railway track..." he added.

Pawar said, "As of now, 13 people have been declared dead. 10 of them have been identified while the other 3 yet to be identified... Total injured numbers 10, 8 males to 2 females... A chilling murder mystery in Hyderabad, the capital of the Indian state of Telangana, has left police puzzled as the investigators have so far failed to recover even a single body part of the deceased. The case involves a 35-year-old man allegedly killing his wife following petty dispute.
Gurumurthy, who is a retired Army soldier from Andhra Pradesh state, allegedly killed his wife P Venkata Madhavi, dismembered her body, boiled the parts and disposed them at several nearby locations, including a lake in the city&rsquo;s outskirts.

Gurumurthy has confessed to the crime and Hyderabad Police have been trying to gather technical and scientific evidence to corroborate the claims over the past few days, but with little success.
&ldquo;We cannot go by mere claims. We are collecting all technical and scientific pieces of evidence. The case is under investigation,&rdquo; Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
Gurumurthy has been taken into police custody but no arrest has been made so far in this case.

On Friday, he will meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at the Taj Mahal Hotel at 4 p.m.
On January 25, President Prabowo will participate in a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 10 a.m., followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at Rajghat.
He will later hold a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House at 12 p.m., which will include the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and press statements.
In the evening, he will meet with India's Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Taj Mahal Hotel at 4 p.m. At 7 p.m., he will meet President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

PM Modi paid an official visit to Indonesia in 2018. During the visit, India-Indonesia bilateral ties were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and a shared vision of India-Indonesia Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific was also adopted.
PM Modi also met President Prabowo on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in November last year. This was the first meeting between the two leaders.

Earlier in the day, BJP leader Nitin Patel arrived in Prayagraj to attend Mahakumbh 2025 and said that the festivities are a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
"This Mahakumbh is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who follow Sanata Dharma and all Indians. Crores of people are attending this Mahakumbh. Today, I along with my family will take a holy dip here. Mahakumbh will benefit the state economically. No one should see this from a political angle," Patel told ANI.
In just 11 days of the Mahakumbh, more than 97.3 million devotees, Kalpavasis and revered seers have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.
With this unprecedented turnout of devotees, the total number of participants is expected to touch the 100 million mark by the end of today the 11th day of the festival.
As per the data of the Uttar Pradesh government, on Thursday as of now over 16.98 lakh people took dip in the sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mystical Saraswati.
The Uttar Pradesh government estimates that more than 45 crore people will attend the Maha Kumbh this time, according to an official statement.
Among the sea of visitors, various 'babas' stand out, especially those who carry their distinct identities.
Earlier on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the holy dip in Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak and other cabinet ministers were with the CM. The UP CM was seen offering thanks to God as he and his ministers took part in this spiritual moment.

A 35-year-old woman from Telangana's Hyderabad, Puttavenkata Madhavi, was the wife of a retired Army jawan, Gurumurthy. On January 16, Madhavi left her house after an argument with Gurumurthy. Extend the tax rebate under section 87A to taxpayers with taxable income up to Rs 1 million ($11566) from the existing limit of Rs 7 lakh ($8096).
The government's 'Housing for all' initiative might lead to the introduction of a deduction for interest on loans of up to Rs 2 lakh ($2313.23) for self-occupied house property in the new tax regime. Currently, this benefit is only available under the old tax regime.

A recent report has revealed that approximately four out of five Indian employers anticipate a conservative approach to hiring in the first quarter of 2025, citing persistent talent shortages as a major obstacle to recruitment.
The report is based on the ManpowerGroup Talent Shortage Survey of more than 3000 employers across the four regions of the country.
According to the report, despite having the highest hiring demand globally, 80 per cent of the employers in India struggle to find the right talent they need.

Certain industries, particularly IT, energy, and utilities, are experiencing acute talent shortages, driven by escalating demand for specialised skills in areas like data and IT. The IT sector tops the list with 84 per cent hiring demand, closely followed by energy and utilities, and healthcare and life sciences, both at 81 per cent.
Gulati said that in South India, where the shortage is especially pronounced (85 per cent), the pressure on medium and large enterprises is significant.
&ldquo;Employers are increasingly prioritising upskilling strategies to bridge this gap, reflecting a shift towards sustainable solutions over short-term measures like wage increases. "We are hoping to find the cause (behind the illness) soon. We will educate the people and raise awareness among them like not to exchange foods," he added.
<h2 dir="ltr">'Not a public health emergency'</h2>
Dr M L Raina, CMO Rajouri, said that as per the test reports, there is no need to declare a 'public health emergency.
&ldquo;We have checked the system so that there are no problems. You can see that everything has been cleared from our side. The viral test results are still positive. None of them have come. All are negative. Even if we go to the vectorology side, it is negative. If we go to the viral side, it is negative. There is no public health emergency," he said.

The CBI will file an appeal before the Calcutta High Court, seeking a death sentence for Sanjay Roy, who was sentenced to "life imprisonment until death" by a Sealdah court in the rape-cum-murder case of an on-duty doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, officials said Wednesday.

The agency's plea seeking the death penalty for Roy was turned down by the trial court, where Additional District and Sessions Judge Anirban Das said that the crime did not fall under the "rarest of the rare" category.

"The CBI prayed for the death penalty. The defence lawyer prayed that a jail term be given instead of the death penalty. This crime does not fall under the 'rarest of the rare' category," the judge said on Monday while sentencing Roy.
"I am sentencing you to life imprisonment, meaning till the last day of your life, for causing injury during the act of committing rape on the victim that led to her death...," he told Roy.
The West Bengal government has already approached the high court, challenging the verdict and seeking the death penalty for Roy.

The CBI has opposed the state's right to file an appeal in the case, claiming that as it was the prosecuting agency, it had the right to appeal on the grounds of inadequacy of the sentence.
Appearing for the CBI, Deputy Solicitor General Rajdeep Majumdar on Wednesday opposed the state's submission, maintaining that the West Bengal government does not have the right to appeal against the trial court's order on the ground of inadequacy.
He submitted that the CBI had prayed for awarding capital punishment to Roy before the trial court.
The high court said it would hear the CBI, the victim's family, and the convict before deciding on the admission of the state government's appeal. The high court said it will hear the matter on January 27.

The trainee doctor was raped and killed in the early hours of August 9 in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital when she had gone to rest during her graveyard shift.
Her body with severe injury marks was found inside the hall by a doctor the next morning.
Civic volunteer Sanjay Roy was arrested the next day based on CCTV footage in which he was seen entering the seminar hall at 4.03 am on the day of the incident.

"This is obscenity. Depicted most revered deities in an obscene manner&mdash;a&nbsp;deliberate and malicious insult. Husain may be the greatest artist in the world, but he has no right to insult my deities," Sachdeva argued.
Sachdeva claimed there was an advertisement, and thousands of people saw the painting of "deities being ridiculed."
"Prima facie case is made out for exhibiting such offensive paintings for public viewing and hurting religious sentiments," the complainant further said.

On Monday (January 20), Judicial Magistrate First Class Sahil Monga ordered the seizure of Husain's paintings and reserved the order on FIR after hearing the arguments (of the case).
Ordering the seizure, Monga cited the police's action taken report, which said the investigating officer seized the security camera footage and the network video recorder of the art gallery.
As per the action taken report, the art exhibition was held privately, and the paintings, including the two in question, were only to display the original work of Husain.
