The Indian government further closed the the Integrated Check Post at Attari with immediate effect. It is the only operational land border crossing between the two countries. After this, the foreign secretary said the Pakistani nationals who have crossed the border with valid endorsements may return through that route before May 1.&nbsp;
Declaration of 'persona non grata' 
The Indian government further declared the "the defence, military, naval and air advisors in the Pakistani high commission in New Delhi as persona non grata". Misri said these officials have a week to leave the Indian land. Further, India will withdraw its own defence, navy and air advisors from the Indian high commission in Islamabad.
Suspension of visa services to Pakistani nationals

To those that are going through the loss of their people, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Along with the entire nation, I am both hurt and angry at what has taken place. I am confident that our country's response will show our strength as a nation and justice will be served.
I have carried my country with pride for so many years now, and so it hurts to see my integrity being questioned. It pains me that I have to explain myself to people who are targeting me and my family, with no good reason. We are simple people, please don't make us out to be anything else. There are so many false narratives that certain sections of the media have created around me, but just because I do not speak up, it doesn't make it true.

As per reports, Rahul Gandhi asked, "Are you saying that you are admitting security lapses as security personnel were absent? Are you saying that you (security agencies) did not know that thousands of tourists are reaching the locality? Are you saying that you did not know that the locality was open?"&nbsp;
NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar)&rsquo;s Supriya Sule said there that a travel agent in Pune knew that the Baisaran valley was open and he was sending tourists to the locality. "If a travel agent can know about this, why can&rsquo;t our security agencies know?" Sule asked.&nbsp;

She travelled from Pakistan's Karachi, through Nepal to reach Noida, where the couple married and started living together. They reportedly welcomed a daughter this year.
Seema was arrested in July 2023 for illegally entering India. Her Husband Sachin too was arrested for providing shelter to an illegal immigrant, but they were later released on bail.
<h2>What happens to Pakistani woman Seema Haider?</h2>
Unlike other Pakistani nationals who arrived with valid visas, Seema illegally entered India by crossing over from Nepal. She hasn't &nbsp;attained an Indian citizenship so far, and the judiciary is still examining her legal status.
According to Delhi high court advocate Abu Bakar Sabbak, the directive by the Indian Government also applies to to Seema Haider. However, her situation is not straightforward, therefore there could be some kind of a consideration, reported News18.
Since Seema is married to an Indian citizen and now has a child with him, her case will largely depend on the approach taken by the &nbsp;Uttar Pradesh government of Yogi Adityanath, he further said to the media outlet.
<h2>What is SAARC visa suspended by India?</h2>
SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Visa Exemption Scheme allows certain categories of dignitaries to be issued a special travel document. This exempts them from the need for visas and other travelling documents.&nbsp;

In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from 27 April 2025.
The MEA in a statement said that medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till 29 April 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas, as now amended. Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest.

Shubham Dwivedi, a 31-year-old businessman from Kanpur who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, was cremated at his native village with full state honours on Thursday morning, officials said.
The cremation was attended by Uttar Pradesh Cabinet ministers Yogendra Upadhyay and Rakesh Sachan, who placed wreaths on Dwivedi and offered their condolences to the bereaved family. A guard of honour was also presented to the departed soul, officials said.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Thursday held an emergency meeting to discuss the deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, calling it a 'cowardly' act masterminded by Pakistan and urging the government to conduct a thorough probe into intelligence and security failures.
In a strongly worded resolution, the CWC condemned the attack, saying, "Cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam was masterminded by Pakistan. Deliberate targeting of Hindus done to inflame passions across country; we appeal for calm in face of this grave provocation."
The meeting, held at the party's headquarters on 24 Akbar Road, was attended by party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and senior leaders including K.C. Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh.
The "CWC expresses its deepest shock and condemnation of the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam," the resolution stated, adding that a comprehensive investigation into intelligence failures and security lapses was "imperative."
