VIDEO: 63-year-old dies after being hit by speeding Audi in Noida

In a shocking incident of hit-and-run case, an elderly man in Noidalost his life in the early hours of Sunday (May 26) after being hit by a speeding car.

CCTV footage of the horrific incident was circulating on social media forums which showed the man crossing the street when the white-coloured Audi car hit him. The video showed the man was flung several feet in the air.

The police said the accident happened at around 6:30 am (IST) when the man was apparently going to buy milk. The man has been identified as Janak Dev Shah (63), who had retired from All India Radio.

The incident happened near Kanchenjunga Apartment in Noida Sector 53.

Police have registered a case over the incident and said they are looking for the vehicle and owner.

This happened just a few days after the Pune Porsche accident in which a 17-year-old was accused of running over two motorbike-borne 24-year-old IT professionals Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, in Kalyani Nagar, Pune in the early hours of May 19 with a Porsche car.

In this case, attempts were also made by the family to pin the blame on theirdriver in order to protect the minor teen.

Police said that the family of the accused was trying to prove that he was not at the wheel at the time of the accident.
