Apart from rape, Tejpal has also been charged under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 354 A (sexual harassment) and 354 B (Assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to disrobe), and 376 sub-section 2, ANI reported.
Tejpal used to be editor of Tehelka magazine.
He is accused of raping a junior woman colleague inside a lift at the Hotel Grand Hyatt during an event organised by Tehelka magazine in Goa.
The charges against him were framed in a Goa court.
The next hearing in the case will be held on November 21.
