The Supreme Court had recently banned the sale of firecrackers in Delhi because of the pollution they cause.
The ban on their sale will continue till November 1.
Diwali this year falls on October 19.
"We have told our scientists to work on zero-pollution crackers. So we can find solution and everyone is happy," ANI reported Dr Harsh Vardhan as saying.
Since the Supreme Court order, Chhattisgarh too has banned the sale of high-decibel firecrackers.
