Prajwal Revanna sex videos row: A Congress leader who is a minister in Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's cabinet created a row after he compared disgraced JD (S) leader Prajwal Revanna with Lord Krishna. Revanna, a parliamentarian seeking re-election from the south Indian state's Hassan constituency, is the grandson of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda. He is accused of sexually assaulting a number of women over the last few years. The tapes purportedly showing these assaults were recently disseminated across Karnataka amid India's raging summer of elections.

Revanna has left the country and is reportedly in Germany, with a global lookout notice issued in his name at the time of filing this report.
Ramappa Timmapur, the excise minister in Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's government, said that Revanna probably thought he was going to make a Guinness record by assaulting so many women.
"We haven't ever seen such a dirty thought in the country, he probably thought he could make a Guinness record. Women used to be with Sri Krishna paramatma with devotion but not this way, probably Prajwal Revanna wanted to break this record," Timmapur said.

Timmapur's comment is being slammed left, right and centre on social media, with many calling upon CM Siddaramaiah to sack the minister.
Meanwhile, during a public rally in Karnataka's Hubballi, senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah said it was Siddaramaiah government who let Revanna escape the country.
"Right now we have an alliance with JD(S) and then Revanna's case came up. I want to make it clear, BJP will never stand with atrocities against women," he said.
"Listen Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, government is yours, of Congress, it was you who was supposed to take action. You did not take any action until the election of Vokkaliga belt was over, you did politics and let him [Prajwal Revanna] escape.
"If you have guts, say the truth, because of you a person who committed a heinous crime escaped...even though they're (JD(S)) our ally, our stand is clear, those who commit such crimes, need to be given harshest punishment...," he said.
