PM Modi will arrive in Chennai today to officially inaugurate the four-day-long DefExpo on the outskirts of Chennai.

On Wednesday, the Indian Premier League(IPL) cricket tournament was shifted from the city over the Cauvery row after protesters demonstrated outside the stadium. Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth had called for IPL venue to be shifted out of Chennai in view of the ongoing Cauvery row and the plight of the farmers.
Rajinikanth had saidhe felt "embarrassed" that the IPL matches are being held in the city. The BCCI confirmed on Wednesday evening that Chennai will no longer host the IPL matches in the city as a result.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said though the Prime Minister will be fasting, he will be inaugurating the defence expo in Chennai.
