The BJP chief admitted that the Audi was registered under his son's name when quizzed about the incident.

This is not the first instance when a high-profile politician or businessman's son has been involved in a hit-and-run case in the state.

In May, realtor Vishal Agrawal's teenage son killed two IT professionals while driving a Porsche sportscar in an intoxicated state. The 17-year-old boy didn't have a valid license either when he was driving the car.
