Justice Dipak Misra takes oath as 45th CJI today

JusticeDipak Misrawas today sworn in as the 45th Chief Justice ofIndia.
The announcement came after a brief ceremony in theDarbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan with President Ramnath Kovind administering the oath of office.

The 64-year-old judge will assumeoffice following the retirement of Justice J S Khehar yesterday. The new CJI was all praise for Justice Khehar, saying: "Justice J S Khehar is a man with a democratic attitude. He has a good heart, a creation of a good mind which is capable of transmitting good thought and energy. He is affectionately energetic and has the ability to energise others because of his contagious vibrance."
Justice Misra will remain in office until October 2, 2018.
