An FIR has been registered against a man for allegedly molesting a Russian cabin crew member on board a flight from Russia to India on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the FIR was registered under Section 354 (outraging a woman's modesty) at the IGI police station against the accused, Ram Kishan, a cloth trader who was working in Russia.

Officials said that the incident took place on board a Russian Airlines flight Aeroflot and the cabin crew member registered a complaint immediately after landing at IGI airport.

In her complaint, the woman said she was touched inappropriately by Ram Kishan and when she tried to resist, he abused and threatened her and even made indecent gestures.

Police said that the woman also registered a statement before the magistrate on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the accused was immediately apprehended by CISF and handed over to police. "The passenger will be placed under arrest after the initial probe is complete," said Sanjay Bhatia, DCP (IGI) airport.
