The finance ministry announced Friday that it has extended the due date for filing Income Tax returnstill October 31.
The Ministry of Finance made theannouncement on Twitter Thursday.

The due date for filing IT returns and Audit Reports was September 30.
The government had earlier asked thosefiling their IT returns to quote their Aadhaar number or Aadhaar enrolment number.
On Thursday (August 31), the government extended the date for linking Aadhaar with the Personal Account Numberupto December 31to facilitate ease of compliance by taxpayers.
