The finance ministry announced Friday that it has extended the due date for filing Income Tax returns till October 31.
The Ministry of Finance made the announcement on Twitter Thursday.
Due-date for filing Income Tax Returns & various reports of audit prescribed under the IT Act,1961 has been extended to October 31, 2017.

The due date for filing IT returns and Audit Reports was September 30.
The government had earlier asked those filing their IT returns to quote their Aadhaar number or Aadhaar enrolment number.
On Thursday (August 31), the government extended the date for linking Aadhaar with the Personal Account Number upto December 31 to facilitate ease of compliance by taxpayers.
