The Central Bureau of Investigation sought a 14-day extension of Takla's custody to scrutinize his statements given during investigations.

The special court was told by the CBI that Takla did not co-operate during the remand proceedings and therefore at least 24 days police custody is required to facilitate further investigation.

Takla was arrested in Delhi by the CBI earlier this month on numerous charges, most of them linking his alleged involvement to the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
