COVID-19: Maharashtra records 103 deaths, Mumbai reports 1,109 new cases

The number of coronavirus cases in India's financial capital has surged to 41,986 with the death toll climbing to 1,368.

Maharashtra recorded 2,287 new COVID-19 cases with 103 deaths today, taking the total number of cases in the state to 72,300.

India's national capital recorded 1,298 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with the total death toll climbing to 556.

Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, 137 people tested positive for coronavirus with the total number of cases in the state climbing to 8,420.

Jharkhand on Tuesday reported 37 new coronavirus cases with the total number of cases rising to 712. The state health department said that there are 387 active cases.

In Rajasthan 273 new coronavirus cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 9373, the health department said.
