The results of theautopsy conducted on the body of the BJP worker found hanging yesterday in West Bengal's Purulia district say he committed suicide.
Dulal Kumar was found hanging from an electricity tower on Saturday.
His was the second body to be found hanging in quick succession.
Trilochan Mahto's body was found hanging, again in Purulia, from a tree on Thursday.
"We received postmortem reports, which states 'death due to asphyxia, hanging ante mortem and suicidal ingestion'," the new Purulia SP Akash Magharia said.
"We're taking formal action. Other case (Trilochan Mahato) is heading in right direction too. State government has handed it over to CID," he added.

The former Purulia SP Joy Biswas was transferred on Saturday after the discovery of the two bodies.
The BJP has blamed both deaths on Trinamool Congress cadres.
Balarampur, where Kumar hailed from, was shut down for 12 hours today. The shutdown was called by the BJP.
Kumar's family meanwhile has said they do not agree with the suicide report, and that they "are sure that he did not commit suicide, he was killed by TMC workers."
