At least five died and over a dozen were left injured on Friday (Jun 28) after a tank in a glass factory in south Indian state of Telangana exploded, news agency PTI reported quoting police officials.
The tank in the factory at Shadnagar exploded around 4.30 pm (IST).
According to the police, injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are out of danger.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered the officials to take care of those who were injured and provide them with intense care.
He directed personnel from revenue, police, fire, labour, industries and health to stay at the spot and coordinate relief measures, according to an official release.

In a social media post on X, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao said, "Shocked to learn about the death of 6 workers in the horrific accident at South Glass Private Limited at Shadnagar."
"My heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayers for the swift recovery of those injured," he wrote.
"Appeal to Telangana Government to immediately conduct a thorough safety audit & review disaster management plans in all industrial areas so as to prevent any recurrence," KTR added.

According to the PTI report that quotes officials, the blast occurred in a furnace in the factory due to overheating.
The impact of the blast was such that some persons were thrown around. About 100 people were present in the factory, but the impact was felt up to 20-30 metres.
A trade union leader claimed that most of the dead belonged to other states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
