Anushka Sharma to get Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence award for being 'path-breaking producer'

A successful producer and actress Anushka Sharma will now be awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for her contribution to the entertainment industry.
The award will be handed out by a Mumbai-based organisation called the Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation. It is different from the Government of India instituted and recognised Dadasaheb Phalke Award -- awarded during National Awards ceremony held annually in New Delhi -- and is India’s highest cinematic honour.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award will be awarded to Anushka who was recently seen in her home production horror film Pari for experimenting with new stories and ideas as a film producer. Her company called Clean Slate Films, co-owned by her brother Karnesh Sharma, ventured into production with critically and commercially successful NH10.
Starting off on her own as a producer at the age of 25 when she was a number of hit-films-old, Anushka became the youngest producer with an eye for quality content and entertaining cinema. The Clean Slate Films is now three home productions old -- all three of which won critical and commercial success.
It has been reported that the Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation has been awarding artists for the last couple of years. In 2016, Manoj Bajpayee and Madhur Bhandarkar were awarded. Huma Qureshi and Shah Rukh Khan have also been awarded in the past.
