Euro 2024: Yamal, Olmo star as Spain outclass France in semifinal

Lamine Yamal became the youngest ever to score a goal in European Championship as Spain beat France 2-1 in the Euro 2024 semifinal on Tuesday (Jul 9) in Germany.
Yamal, aged 16 years and 362 days, scored his first goal in the 21st minute ofSpain's sixth victory on the trot in the ongoing tournament.
Yamal's goal also brought Spain level at 1-1 after France took an early lead in the game. Kolo Muani converted a header on a brilliant Kylian Mbappe assist in the eighth minute to get France ahead.

Four minutes later, Yamal was again in action as he slipped a pass to Dani Olmo. Olmo immediately passed to Nava who then crossed it back towards Olmo who touched it with enough delicacy towards the goal.
France's Kounde, however, touched the ball in the end before it went in but the referees gave it to Olmo.

Spain was the better side overall, keeping 59 percent possession of the ball throughout the game while France had 41 percent.
France, however, made nine attempts at goal but only three were on the target while Spain converted two out of their six attempts.
Both team were handed two yellow cards each with France registering 14 fouls against Spain's nine.
Spain will now play winner of England vs Netherlands match in the final to make attempt to win their fourth Euro title.
