
The tragic death of singer Liam Payne has shocked music lovers acrossthe world. A few days after Payne's death, his former One Director bandmate Zayn Malik announced he was postponing the US tour, which was scheduled to begin next week.
The US leg of Zayn's stairway to the sky tour was set to begin next week from San Francisco on Oct 23. However, the tour has been rescheduled for January 2025.
Zayn shared the news through a statement released on his social media handles. He wrote, “Given the heartbreaking loss I’ve experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY tour.''
Giving his fans assurance that all the tickets will be valid on the next tour, he wrote, ''The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”
Zayn and Payne shot to fame as members of the One Direction band on Britain's X Factor in 2010. The other members of the group were Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
Earlier this week, Zayn shared a tribute post for his former bandmate. Sharing a throwback picture of them, the singer wrote in a heartbreaking post, "Liam, I have found myself talking out loud to you to you hoping you can hear me, I can't help but think selfishly that there were so many more conversations for us to have in our lives."

Liam Payne's death
Liam died on Oct 16 after falling from a third floor of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was in the city to visit his former bandmate Niall Horan's concert.
As per reports, he died of ''multiple traumatic injuries” and “internal and external bleeding” he sustained after a fall from a hotel room. Several reports have been saying that Liam was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of his death. However, no official word has been shared on this yet.
