The recently concluded BET Awards 2024 honoured Usher for his music with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The R&B icon picked up the big award as peers and friends from the industry cheered him on. Usher also picked up the Best Male Artist award in the R&B and pop music category. In his speech, the pop star thanked fans and friends and expressed his gratitude for all the love he’s received in his entire music journey.
Ahead of the Lifetime Achievement Award, artists like Childish Gambino, Keke Palmer and others paid a fitting tribute to him. From singing his iconic songs to performing a medley of his tracks with their best Usher impressions, the BET Awards was a lot of fun.
Childish Gambino gave a fitting tribute with the R&B legend’s 2002 smash “U Don’t Have to Call”. Keke Palmer joined on the stage and sang his 1997’s “You Make Me Wanna….”.
Summer Walker also came up to the stage and reminded fans of her collaboration with Usher on her 2023 Coming Home album. She delivered her steamy verse to their sultry “Good Good” collab which also features 21 Savage.
Then there was “There Goes My Baby” by Coco Jones who surprised the crowd with a scintillating performance. Coco danced to every beat of the song in front of Usher and his wife Jennifer Goicoechea, and the cameras couldn’t believe what they just saw.

Not to forget, there was also Victoria Monét and Teyana Taylor who worked together on the stage as a tag team to perform “Bad Girl,” which had the camera doing flips while trying to keep up with the gymnastic acrobatics from the duo.
