Sona Mohapatra took a dig at Salman Khan again on Twitter as she referred to him as “paper tiger”. She did not mention the actor’s name in the tweet but spoke of his recent film’s earning at the box office before asking the Indian audience at large to not worship paper tigers.
For all those who follow Khan’s films will know that a very famous franchise of his films addresses him as ‘tiger’.
As the film was promoted on a large scale with Khan and Katrina Kaif leading the ensemble of actors in Ali Abbas Zafar's film, the singer said in spite of the film getting hugely promoted, it failed to rake in numbers to the tune of what it should have.
She tweeted: "Q. What do you call filmi superstars that don’t even deliver a single, full week of returns in the public domain despite all the hype, promotions & posturing?
A. Paper Tigers (P.S : Stop worshipping these paper tigers dear #India . Let’s find & BE more worthy ‘heros’)"
Khan’s film ‘Bharat’ released on the day of Eid, June 5 and had a domestic box office collection of up to Rs 180 crore, and is expected to reach the Rs 200 crore mark very soon.
