
The 25th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 2019 were unveiled on Wednesday. Bradley Cooper’s ‘A Star Is Born’ leads the film nominations this year with a total of four, including for best ensemble, best actor for Bradley Cooper, best actress for Lady Gaga and thebest supporting actor for Sam Elliott.
Following closely is ‘BlacKkKlansman’ and ‘The Favourite’ with three nominations each. ‘BlacKkKlansman’ also competes for best ensemble alongside ‘A Star Is Born’, ‘Black Panther’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.
On TV, ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ and ‘Ozark’ lead with four nominations followed by ‘Barry’, ‘GLOW’, ‘The Handmaid's Tale’ and ‘The Kominsky Method’ with three mentions each.
In the best drama series category are ‘The Americans’, ‘Better Call Saul’, ‘Handmaid's Tale’, ‘Ozark’ and ‘This Is Us’. Best comedy series ensemble is with ‘Atlanta’, ‘Barry’, ‘GLOW’, ‘Kominsky Method’ and ‘Marvelous Mrs Maisel’.
Alan Alda will receive the lifetime achievement award.
The 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live on January 27, 2019. Megan Mullally would serve as the show's second-ever host, following in the footsteps of Kristen Bell last year.
