Is Marvel bringing the Russo brothers back to restore the magic of superheroes? After a lacklustre performance of several Marvel movies, a report claims that director duo Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Russo brothers who have directed billion-dollar films like Avengers: Endgameand Infinity War, may return to direct new Marvel movies.
As per the reports, the ace filmmakers are in early talks to direct two upcoming movies, 2026’s Avengersmovie and 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. No official statement has been released.

The 2026 Avengersmovie formerly titled The Kang Dynasty was originally set to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). However, the director stepped awayin November 2023 to focus on his other Marvel projects. After Cretton, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy was offered the role, but he declined. Meanwhile, Loki writer Michael Waldron has taken the script duties of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty fromJeff Loveness., who wroteAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The Kang Dynasty movie has been in talks with the question of who Marvel will cast forthe supervillain, Kang. The studio has cut ties with actor Jonathan Majors after he was found guilty of domestic harassment and assault.
