Nag Ashwin's fusion of mythology and sci-fi,Kalki 2898 AD will hit the theatres on June 27. A week before the release, the movie starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone received a U/A certificate from the censor board.

One of the most-awaited movies of the year, the sci-fi thriller is said to be inspired by Hindu mythology and the story of Kalki, the 10th and final incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The Telugu version of the film has received a U/A certificate from India's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The certificate has given more insights into the movie, revealing the film’s long runtime.

Prabhas and Deepika's movie will run for 3 hours and 56 seconds.

As per the instructions on the certificate, the makers have been asked to put a disclaimer at the start of the movie with a voice-over, informing viewers about themovie's fictional content. The disclaimer should alsomention that they have taken cinematic liberties with no intention to hurt any religion.

The certificate mentions the other minor changes that have been asked to be made.

Kalki 2898 AD Trailer

On June 10, the first trailer of the sci-fi film was released, giving a brief glimpse of the dystopian world. Set in the future, the trailer introduces the intriguing character of Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), who has a duty to protect only one person, who is yet to be born. In the movie, Deepika is playing the role of Padma, who is pregnant with an extraordinary child, presumably Kalki, who will change the fate of this world.

Prabhas is playing Bhairava, who has been tasked to bring back Padma. Kamal Haasan is playing the role of the main antagonist.

The movie is said to be the most expensive Indian film ever made, with a budget of $72 million (approx), as per Variety. The movie'sstar-studdedlineup includesPrabhas, Deepika, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan among others.

Besides the lead cast, the movie also stars Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, and Shobana.
