David Burke, known as D4vd, was taken into custody over the murder of a 14-year-old girl, whose decomposed body was found in a Tesla car.
Musician David Burke, known as D4vd, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. On Thursday (April 16), Los Angeles police took the singer into custody.
The arrest comes months after the decomposed body of a teenage girl, Caleste Rivas, was found in a Tesla in September 2025.
“Detectives from Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery‑Homicide Division have arrested David Burke, a 21‑year‑old resident of Los Angeles, for the murder of Celeste Rivas,” Los Angeles police said in a statement on X.

According to reports, D4vd, David, is being held without bail, and the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office on Monday (April 19) for consideration.
The rapper was escorted in handcuffs from his home in the Hollywood Hills by multiple officers. As per the California Post, cops shouted "surrender" on a loudspeaker to get the rapper to step outside his home.

LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division Commanding Officer Captain Scot M. Williams said: “We came to the home with a probably cause arrest warrant for him. We did the best we can to keep tabs on him, but once we developed probable cause to arrest him for murder, then we were on him pretty diligently.”
D4vd's lawyer on arrest
In a statement to CNN, the singer’s legal team, Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter, said the singer has only been detained under suspicion.
“Let us be clear — the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” the team said.
The lawyers added, “There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
What is D4vd's connection to the teen girl's murder?
The 21-year-old has been taken into custody after being under investigation for months following the discovery of Rivas' remains on September 8. Officers were called to a tow yard to check the car and the foul odour coming from it.
Upon checking, a dismembered body was discovered inside a bag that was placed in the front trunk of the car, which was registered to Burke. The car was found abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and towed to the tow yard.
Investigators found the head and torso in a single bag. The other body parts were found in the second bag, as per the court documents show. Celeste’s cause of death remains unknown.
Thebody was found months after she was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, California. She was last seen in April 2024, as per reports.
