Jennifer Lopez wants her last name back! Days after, the "Ain't Your Mama" singer filed for divorce from her husband of two years Ben Affleck. Ithas been revealed that the singer also wants her old name back.
The Marry Me actress filed for divorce from Affleck on Aug. 20after two years of marriage. As per the court documents obtained by People, the 55-year-singer has requested to restore her former maiden name, i.e., Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
In July 2022, the singer dropped her last name right after she married Affleck in a hush-hush wedding in Las Vegas. The multi-hyphenate star famously signed her On The JLO newsletter as "With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck"
Even in the Clark County Clerk's Office marriage license record, Jennifer requested to change her name and list her as Jennifer Affleck under Party 2's new name section.
Talking about changing her name, the star told Vogue in November 2022, “People are still going to call me Jennifer Lopez. But my legal name will be Mrs. Affleck because we’re joined together. We’re husband and wife. I’m proud of that. I don’t think that’s a problem.”
When asked if she wants Affleck to become Mr. Lopez, she responded, “No! It’s not traditional.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's Divorce and Romance
Ending months-long separation speculations, Jennifer filed for divorce from Affleck on Aug 20, which marked the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia.
Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024, as the date of separation.
In her filing, Lopez stated "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship in 2021 after almost two decades of breakup. Inthe early 2000s, Ben and Jenniferwere one of Hollywood’s most famous couples. After gettingengaged in 2002, they broke up in 2004. The ex-couple got back together in 2021 and got married in 2022.
Ben and Jen first tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022. After months, the couple celebrated their union by getting married for the second time in Georgia amid the presence of friends and family.
