Indian action thriller Kill to get a new lease of life as Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment have come together to make an English-language remake of the film. This news comes as the film directed by Nikhil Nagesh Nhat and produced by Indian filmmaker Karan Johar, gets ready for its Hindi-language release in India on July 5.

Both production companies have worked together on the famous John Wick franchise and delivered some instant hits in the action-thriller genre. 

Meanwhile, the Hindi-language Kill saw its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Midnight Madness section. It later went on to get showcased at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Kill tells the story of Indian Army commando Amrit (portrayed by Lakshya) racing against time and armed adversaries on a New Delhi-bound train to rescue his beloved Tulika (played by Tanya Maniktala).

As for the English-language remake, Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment will helm the remake. On the news, Stahelski said, "Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. It's exciting to be developing an English-language version – we have big shoes to fill."

Kill features Lakshya, Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala.

Meanwhile, John Wick is a famous action franchise starring Keanu Reeves. It has three movies in its franchise of films. The third instalment came last year. The next chapter in the John Wick universe is Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas.
