The Cannes Film Festival is underway withfilms from worldwide being screened at the event. On May 19, actress Demi Moore's movie The Substance premiered at the Grand Lumiere Theatre, and got a wonderful reaction from the audience at the event.
Helmed by French director Coralie Forgeat, the horror thriller received a 13-minute standing ovation,the longest ovation at the festival this year.
Directed, produced and written by Forgeat, the movie stars Demi Moore, Dennis Quaid and Margaret Qualley.
The movie which has garnereda 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating, is ahorror drama with a feminist take and revolves around a product called The Substance that can help people become the best version of themselves. However, things are not as simple as they seem.
For the unaware, the movie is Fargeat’s Cannes debut. It isamong 22 films competing for the Palme d’Or, Cannes top prize. Other big entries of this year's festival includeFrancis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis,Selena Gomez's Emilia Perez, and Andrea Arnold’s Bird among others.

Demi Moore's Return To Cannes
Moore made her comeback to the festival after 27 years. She last attended the festival in 1997 with her ex-husband Bruce Willis for the movie The Fifth Element.
Earlier this week, she attended the premiere of Kinds of Kindness, wearing a dazzling red sequined red dress from Armani Privé.
For her second appearance, Demi showed up donning an exquisite gold fishtail dress.
