Ayo Edebiri denies feuding with Jennifer Lopez, calls rumours 'absurd'

Ayo Edebiri has called out all rumours of an alleged fight with Jennifer Loepz. The statement comes after a clip from a 2020 podcast surfaced in which the actress agreed with the host that Jennifer Lopez’s career was a “scam”. Ayo’s video giving that statement on JLo went viral and it was reported that Jennifer didn’t like it (obviously).
Post the viral episode, Ayo went to guest host Saturday Night Live where JLo was booked as the musical guest of the week. Ayo addressed the controversy on SNL and said, “OK, OK, we get it. It’s wrong to leave mean comments, or post comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact because you’re 24 and stupid.”
She then clarified later in an interview with Vanity Fair, “That would be like Mr. Bean and Mick Jagger beefing — and I’m obviously Mr. Bean. She’s J.Lo!”
Post the SNL appearance, Jennifer Lopez was asked about the rumoured beef to which the hit songstress said that Ayo Edebiri had apologised to her, something Edebiri confirmed to Vanity Fair, saying, “She was very chill and nice about it.”
Why did Ayo call JLo’s career a scam?
Ayo Edebiri appeared on the Scam Goddess podcast in a 2020 episode. In the said episode, host Laci Mosley claimed Lopez’s career had been “one long scam.”

She continued, “A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J.Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio.’ Like, ‘J.Lo was busy.’ Doing what? Not singing, obviously.”
