'Jurassic World: Dominium' UK production to restart in July

As the coronavirus slows down in the UK and other parts of the world, ‘Jurassic World: Dominium’ is set to become one of the first major studio titles to restart filming in the UK. ‘Avatar’ has also already started filming in New Zealand as director and crew reached the country ten days earlier.

On the ‘Jurassic’ film front, Universal confirmed that production of the film will pick up again on July 6 at Pinewood where pre-production is set to kick off this week.

‘Jurassic World: Dominium’ is directed by Colin Trevorrow. The film was slated to begin work mid-March but was brought to a halt because of the pandemic.

Universal has confirmed that the production will start keeping in mind the British Film Institute and British Film Commission’s guidelines for social distancing and coronavirus-related safety standards.

As per government rules, anyone flying into the UK to restart work on the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ including lead stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will have to undergo a two-week quarantine.

Soon, we will be hearing more such news from other studios as many other films were to film in the UK in March. To name a few are Matt Reeve's ‘The Batman' and the third ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ instalment, both with Warner Bros., plus Disney's ‘The Little Mermaid’ and Sony's live-action musical adaptation of ‘Cinderella’.
