As the trailer of Zoya Akhtar’s film ‘Gully Boy’ came out today, we can tell that Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have gotten into the skin of their characters in a story that tells the world how the rap scene in India grew and with leaps and bounds.

The film is said to be loosely based on the life of Divine, a Mumbai-based street rapper who charted success with songs that connected with the youth owing to its true-from-the-heart lyrics.

The trailer has Ranveer Singh repeating to himself ‘Apna Time Aayega’ (My time will come) even as the phrase appears on the screen towards the end.

Ranveer and Alia play Muslims in the film, living in the streets of Mumbai (visibly poor).

The film is set to release on 14th February.
