Britney Spears deletes angry post about Halsey's song 'Lucky'; latter reacts

Contrary to the ongoing rumours, pop icons Britney Spears and Halsey have no bad blood because of the release of Halsey's new music video "Lucky". According to them, it was all nothing but a misunderstanding.
So, what exactly happened? Hours after Halsey premiered her song "Lucky" on Friday, Spears expressed her discontent with her portrayal in the song in a now-deleted message on X (formerly Twitter).
"For obvious reasons, I'm very upset about the Halsey video," Spears wrote in the now-deleted post. "I feel harassed, violated, and bullied. I didn't know an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all."
Spears continued, "I have my own health problems which is why I took down my IG account yesterday. I will definitely be putting it back up to show I CARE. I'm speaking with my lawyers today to see what can be done on this matter. It feels illegal and downright cruel."
However, shortly after deleting the post, Spears clarified that her initial reaction was "fake news," stating, "That was not me on my phone." She added, "I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it !!!" on X.

Halsey later responded to Spears' second post with a message of support and admiration.
"I love Britney!!!! I always have and always will. You were the first person who ever made me realize what it means to feel inspired. And you continue to inspire me every day," Halsey wrote on X.
Halsey's track "Lucky" takes inspiration from Spears' 2000 hit of the same name. The music video has been directed by Gia Coppola and it shows the singer navigating the complexities of fame. Halsey's outfits also pay homage to Spears' wardrobe from the original music video.
Before the song release, Halsey revealed in a press release that Spears had given her blessing for the track and had been "soooo nice" in response to a letter Halsey had written. Spears heard the song early in the process and gave her approval, according to Halsey.
