Paris Olympics 2024: Beyoncé, the 32-time Grammy winner and global superstar, gave the 2024 Olympic Games a dazzling boost on Friday. During NBCUniversal’s primetime coverage of the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, she surprised millions of viewers by introducing Team USA in a spectacular fashion.

In the clip, Beyoncé is seen remixing her track “YA YA” from her Cowboy Carter album with the help of some of the top athletes representing the US.

Dressed in a cowgirl hat and a statement kaftan with the Olympic rings on the back, Beyoncé revealed a white bodysuit underneath, emblazoned with “USA” in blue and outlined in red across her chest. 

“Hello, girls,” Beyoncé welcomed the women’s gymnastics team, which includes Jade Carey, Sunisa “Suni” Lee, Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera.

“Hello, Beyoncé,” the athletes responded, all decked out in navy blue bodysuits and all set for competition. Next, the men’s gymnastics team, including Fred Richard, Brody Malone, Paul Juda, Asher Hong, and Stephen Nedoroscik, made their appearance.

“Oui oui, Paris,” the singer said with a smile, adding, “We snappin.’”

“We wanna welcome you to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games! Ah!” Beyoncé added. “On behalf of Team USA, we ‘gon make it do what it do, YA YA! Put them hands together!”

In a star-studded sequence, athletes like Caeleb Dressel, LeBron James, Katie Ledecky, Noah Lyles, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Sha’Carri Richardson, and many more made cameos, clapping and grooving to the beat as Beyoncé danced to the track.

“Get a look at America, y’all,” she said proudly. “These hopes and dreams, these superstars that represent us.”

As Beyoncé spoke, more athletes appeared on screen with the American flag. “That pride, and that joy, that’s what gets me about this team. And that’s what makes me believe in this team. And that’s why I can’t wait to see what they pull off over these next 16 days. America, give it up for Team USA, the very best of who we are,” the singer expressed.

The video ended with a montage of different Olympic qualifiers competing in various sports.

The 2024 Summer Olympic Games are officially underway. It will go on till August 11.
