Alec Baldwin makes first red carpet appearance since Rust case dismissal

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin made their first red carpet appearance since the dismissal of Alec's recent court case tied to the Rustshooting incident. The couple attended a screening of War Game as part of the Hamptons International Film Festival's SummerDocs series on Saturday, July 20, in East Hampton, New York.

Alec, 66, looked dapper in a dark blue jacket, light blue shirt, grey pants, and brown shoes. He lovingly placed a hand on the waist of his wife, Hilaria, 40, who stunned in a light pink fitted dress and cream stiletto heels. The couple, who share seven children, appeared joyful and relaxed as they posed for photographs.

This public outing marks the first for the Baldwins since Alec’s involuntary manslaughter trial was dismissed with prejudice by a New Mexico judge on July 12. Alec was charged after a tragic incident on the set of the film Rustin which a gun he was holding discharged, injuring director Joel Souza and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Before their appearance in East Hampton, Alec took to Instagram on July 13 to express his gratitude for the case's resolution. "There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now," Alec wrote, accompanying the post with an image of himself in court. "To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family."

The dismissal of the case came after Alec's defence team argued that critical evidence had been withheld by the prosecution. His attorney, Luke Nikas, cited the mishandling of key evidence, including ammunition connected to the case. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ruled that the late discovery of this evidence impeded the trial's fairness, leading to the case's dismissal.

Alec still faces civil lawsuits related to the Rustincident.

In addition to navigating their legal challenges, Alec and Hilaria are gearing up for their new TLC reality TV series, The Baldwins, which will feature their seven children: Carmen Gabriela, 10, Rafael Thomas, 8, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas, 3, María Lucía Victoria, 3, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months. Alec also shares a 28-year-old daughter, Ireland, with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
