Perth, Australia
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah says that self-belief is going to be the key in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) which starts on Friday (Nov 22) in Perth, Australia. Bumrah will also be leading the side in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma who is away due to the birth of his second child.
"Self-belief matters the most in any condition. That is what we are banking on and that is the conversation we are having in our team. When you focus on yourself and focus on your preparation, then that puts you in a great position and everything else will take care of itself," said Bumrah while speaking to 7Cricket.
India have not lost a Test series against Australia since conceding the away BGT in 2014-15. In the last 10 years, India have won all four Test series played against Australia – two away and two at home.

This time around, however, India are under pressure as they come off a home whitewash against New Zealand – their first ever in Tests at home.
Apart from the loss, India will also be without Shubman Gill for the first Test alongside Rohit. Gill injured his hand during practice ahead of the first Test. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami is also unavailable for India. Shami recently made a comeback to competitive cricket after being away for nearly a year.
The only bright spot for India is Rishabh Pant who did really well on the last two tours and has been sensational in Test cricket ever since he made his comeback earlier this year after recovering from an injury that kept him away from cricket for nearly 18 months.
After Perth, India will play the day-night second Test in Adelaide from December 6-10. The third Test will be played at the Gabba in Brisbane from December 14-18 before the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26-30. The last and final Test will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 3-7.
