The widely-famous photo-sharing app, Instagram has finally introduced a new feature call "Your Activity" to help users to keep a tab on the time they spend on Instagram.
The new feature can be accessed by clicking on the menu at the upper right corner of your profile page, from there you can find the feature under "Your Activity" which will show you how much time you have spent on the app on average and how much you use it daily.
The official announcement was made in August but the company has started rolling out the feature now.
The new "Your Activity" feature also allows users to restrict their usage, similar to Apple's Screen Time, which prompts a message on the screen you if a user exceeds the permitted time limit.
It also has a feature to temporarily mute push notifications.
The new feature is aimed to give users more control over the app usage amid the discussions related to social media addiction and its effects on mental health worldwide.
According to reports, Facebook will also roll out the same feature soon.
Google is also planning to launch a similar feature with its new Android 9.0. The new Android update is also expected to roll out soon.
