Israel launched renewed ground operations in Gaza, on Wednesday (Mar 19), issuing a "last warning" to residents to return hostages and dismantle Hamas' control.&nbsp;
This comes after Israel conducted this week's deadliest wave of air strikes since the start of a truce in January, killed over 400 people, mostly women and children, and injured more than 560.
"Over the past 24 hours, IDF (military) forces have begun targeted ground operations in the central and southern Gaza Strip to expand the security perimeter and create a partial buffer between the north and south of the Strip," the army said in a statement.
"Residents of Gaza, this is the last warning," Defence Minister Israel Katz said.&nbsp;
"Take the advice of the President of the United States. Return the hostages and remove Hamas, and other options will open up for you -- including the possibility of leaving for other places in the world for those who want to," Katz added.

"I believe on Monday we actually have the technical teams going" to the kingdom, Witkoff told Bloomberg Television early Wednesday as he expressed confidence in ongoing negotiations following a telephone call the previous day between US President Donald Trump and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
"They agreed on a pathway to some ceasefire conditions... and to a full-on ceasefire that will be negotiated over the coming days. I actually think in a couple of weeks we're going to get to it," he said.

Ukraine not expected to participate in Riyadh, US, Russia talks, says Zelensky’s aide

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released a statement on Wednesday on the recent strikes and the developing situation in Gaza.
The MEA said that it is concerned about the situation and stressed upon the importance of the release of the hostages.
MEA gave a call for the supply of humanitarian assistance to continue for the people of Gaza.
"We are concerned at the situation in Gaza. It is important that all hostages are released. We also call for supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza to be sustained", the MEA said.
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) had announced about conducting "extensive strikes on terror targets belonging to the Hamas" in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF said, "In accordance with the political echelon, the IDF and ISA are currently conducting extensive strikes on terror targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip."
In a series of posts on X, the Israel Prime Minister's Office explained that the strikes were conducted after the instructions from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz, due to Hamas's repeated refusal to release hostages, its rejection of all of the proposals received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediators.

The raid occurred just hours after Istanbul University revoked Imamoglu's degree, amid claims it was falsely obtained. In Turkey, presidential candidates must have a higher education qualification.
Imamoglu's wife Dilek said police officers turned up around 3:00 am (0000 GMT) and took him away several hours later.
"Police officers came right after the sahur and he started to get ready," she said in a video released by the municipality, referring to the meal before the Ramadan fast resumes at dawn.
"They left the house around 7:30 am," she said.

But local reports, including from state news agency Anadolu, said it was also linked to a separate probe for allegedly aiding the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), saying he was one of seven people detained.

"The Military Ban is soaked in animus and dripping with pretext," the judge wrote. "Its language is unabashedly demeaning, its policy stigmatizes transgender persons as inherently unfit, and its conclusions bear no relation to fact."
The judge said Trump "could have crafted a policy that balances the Nation's need for a prepared military and Americans' right to equal protection. They still can. The Military Ban, however, is not that policy."
In February, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memo preventing transgender people from joining the military and halting gender transition treatment for others who are already in uniform.
The Pentagon has also said it would begin removing transgender troops from the military unless they obtain a waiver on a case-by-case basis, according to a February memo.

The Palestinian militant group denounced Tel Aviv's operation, accusing Israel of trying "to overturn the ceasefire agreement" brokered by US, Qatari, and Egyptian mediators. A spokesperson also warned that renewed violence would "impose a death sentence" on the remaining hostages. &nbsp;
Meanwhile, the White House said Israel had consulted US President Donald Trump before launching the strikes. Israel, in turn, described the operation as "fully coordinated" with Washington. &nbsp;
A US State Department spokesperson blamed Hamas and said: "Hamas bears total responsibility... for the resumption of hostilities".

During the call, Putin made it clear that the conflict could only be resolved if Western nations stopped supplying military aid and intelligence to Ukraine.
"It was emphasised that the key condition for preventing an escalation of the conflict and working towards its resolution through political and diplomatic means should be a complete cessation of foreign military assistance and the provision of intelligence to Kyiv," the Kremlin said.
Additionally, Putin insisted that Ukraine must not be allowed to rearm.
