The army chief Gen. Abdol Rahim Mousavi was among 30 key Iranian regime leaders and military chiefs targeted in the strike carried out by US and Israel.
Israel and US combined strike on Iran on Saturday (Feb 28) killed its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with several top leaders of the country. The attack also claimed the life of Iran’s chief of army staff Gen. Abdol Rahim Mousavi. The army chief was among 30 key Iranian regime leaders and military chiefs targeted in the strike carried out by US and Israel on Saturday.
The biggest loss for Iran in the strike has been the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Defense Minister Gen. Aziz Nasirzadeh and the head of Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard and security adviser Ali Shamkhani, were also the killed in the attack, reported the state media on Sunday morning.
Iran has vowed to avenge the killing of its leaders. Iran’s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf in a threat to US said, “You have crossed our red line and must pay the price."
“We will deliver such devastating blows that you yourselves will be driven to beg," he added further.
