Want to make America hate again: Far-right group Far Boys' founder

Proud Boys, a far-right group in the United States (US) which played a major role in the 2021 Capitol riots, has told the makers of a Donald Trump documentary that it wants to make America hate again.

According to British media reports on Monday (Oct 28), the above remark was made by Proud Boys' founderGavin McInnes who said that his group was not responsible forwhat happened at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The documentary isTrump: A Second Chance?- where its makers talked to ardent Trump supporters about their enduring support for the Republican presidential candidate.

Speaking to the BBC,McInnes, 54, said that Proud Boys was not responsible for the Capitol riots.

“It was you. If anyone should apologise … it should be the corrupt leftwing media, and I’ll accept your apology now if you want to do it,” he added.

McInnes was not present at the January 6 protest. However, 50 members of Proud Boys faced charges for their part in the insurrection, which was staged to prevent the certification of the 2020 presidential election which Joe Biden won.

McInnes left Proud Boys in 2018, but...

McInnes left Proud Boys in November 2018 after 10 members of the group were charged in connection with a brawl in Manhattan. However, four years later, he was seenin a black hoodie embroidered with the group's logo, The Guardian reported.

The 54-year-old said on his podcast that he was wearing the hoodie as a homage to "our brothers behind bars."
