Family negotiations for a new pet

Starmer announced Prince’s arrival, revealing that it followed “long negotiations” with his children, who were keen on getting a dog after moving into the official residence. Ultimately, the family agreed to welcome the lively kitten, making him the newest member of their household.

With Prince joining the family, there are now three cats at Downing Street. The Starmer family also has a rescue cat named JoJo and Larry, the well-known internet sensation, who has been living there since 2011, making him one of the longest residents.

With Prince’s arrival, speculation has grown about Larry’s future as he gets older. In a response to a photo of the Prime Minister with Prince, Larry's official X account stated, “My position as best-looking cat on Downing Street remains unchallenged.”
