Hezbollah says it fired drones, guided missiles at Israel in retaliatory strike

Lebanon-based and Iran-backed Hezbollah said on Saturday (April 27) that they targeted locations in northern Israel with drones and guided missiles in response to the cross-border Israeli strikes that killed three people, including two of its members. Israeli army in a statement confirmed that its fighter jets "struck a Hezbollah military structure in the area of Qouzah in southern Lebanon" but did not specify the loss of lives claimed by Hezbollah.
A statement from the group said it "launched a complex attack using explosive drones and guided missiles on the headquarters of the Al Manara military command and a gathering of forces from the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade".
The Israel Defense Forces said that the country's Iron Dome air-defence system "successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon into the area of Manara in northern Israel".
The army also "struck the sources of fire" of several anti-tank missiles launched from Lebanon into the Manara border area, it added.

Later on Saturday (April 27), Lebanon's national news agency reported that an Israeli air strike on a house in Srebbine village had wounded 11 people, one seriously.
The eleven wounded include two Syrian refugees, reports said.
What makes these strikes different?
While Israel and Hezbollah are striking each other since the beginning of war in Gaza about seven months ago, the latest strikes targeted Israel'sMeron air base and its surroundings.
Israel-Lebanon tensions
The border between Lebanon and Israel has seen near-daily exchanges of fire since the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza began nearly seven months ago after Hamas militants stormed into southern Israel and killed around 1200 people. The consequent retaliatory state of war in Gaza has killed over 34,000 people amid an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that has created famine like conditions in the blockaded Palestinian enclave.
In two separate statements earlier Saturday, Hezbollah mourned the deaths of two fighters from the villages of Kafr Kila and Khiam.
It said they had been "martyred on the road to Jerusalem", a euphemism used when it uses to refer to members killed by Israeli fire.
Hezbollah has intensified its targeting of military sites in Israel since tensions soared between Israel and Iran over the bombing of Tehran's Damascus consulate on April 1.
